Meeting Minutes

Skating Club of CNY Board of Directors

August 23, 2011

Meeting beginning at 5:30 pm

In attendance: Jen Ferguson, Debbi Murray, Toni DiPirro, Christina Auer, Shelley Kline, Mia Stanton, Michele Wisely and Barb Davis

Test session from Sunday, August 21 went well, we ended an hour early & didn’t have to pay any over night hotel expenses for judges.

Treasurer’s report – about $3000 in our bank account. We are okay for the moment, but the concern is that we are going into our lean time & we are leaner than ever. Our numbers tend to drop in the fall.

LTS Saturday session times will need to be adjusted. The dance piece of bridge program needs to be done early therefore Liz will talk with Kyle tomorrow to verify times so we are able move forward. The preference from people thru Kate is that earlier times are more convenient. Kate would like to be able to teach, but doesn’t have the opportunity to build her business if she isn’t out on the ice so the language will need be adjusted in her contract. Liz is in the process of changing the wording. The assistant director contract has been signed.

Sue Vickers is interested in teaching LTS & we are in need of LTS coaches. We will charge more for the bridge program since it is a full solid hour of ice plus 15 minutes & make that $150 rather than $100. No other programs are offering this so there should be an adjustment. We will be having skills clinics on Sunday afternoons for 1 hour for the whole club, to be announced.

Next test session will be November 12 from 9-6pm, and with Andrew back full time we may have a full schedule. Jen would like a shadow for test sessions in the future

Competition – Shelley will chair, but we need many assistant chair people. Kathy Picciott will advise & forward on the info from previous competitions. Sanctions will be first & then we will need a timetable. We also need a referee for the competition.

Fundraising – we need to think about general club fundraising. Synchro –Michele & Angela are working on a budget. They will be meeting on Friday to complete it.
